How are steps different on 4.0 and 5.0?

Can anyone break down what’s new or improved about step tracking on the 5.0 compared to my old device?

It is just a huge scam, don’t fall for it!!!

Since I made the switch to the 5.0, my step count fell by about 50%. My whoop count used to be similar to what was recorded on my iPhone and now it seems wildly off–especially on days where I know I spent a significant amount of time out and about. This is a metric I used to rely on when using my 4.0, but it no longer seems trustworthy or relevant.
