I am a 18 year old highschool senior heading off to college in the fall. I am deciding on buying either the 5.0 or the MG. My only question is which one? I play hockey and lacrosse as well as weightlift. With that being said, I am pretty healthy and have never been diagnosed with heart or blood pressure problems. Based on this information which one should I purchase?
I think WHOOP 5.0 would likely be the better fit. Here’s why…
- Performance-Focused: The 5.0 is designed for athletes who prioritize recovery, strain, and sleep tracking to optimize performance in sports and training.
- Durability & Comfort: It’s built for active lifestyles with a smaller and more durable design, making it perfect for hockey, lacrosse, and weightlifting.
- Cost-Effective: Since it doesn’t sound like you need medical-grade features like blood pressure tracking or ECG, the 5.0 provides everything you’ll need without paying extra for features you may not use.
The MG is tailored for members who want medical-grade features like ECG and blood pressure tracking, which are more relevant for individuals with cardiovascular concerns or those focused on long-term heart health.
Go with the WHOOP 5.0. It’s perfect for student-athletes who want to elevate their performance and recovery without the added cost of features designed for medical monitoring.
