Bought Whoop 4.0 recently as a gift with $100 band, return options?

Hi! I just recently bought the 4.0 with 1 year membership. Just to upgrade I activated the membership on my dad’s account. I went through the upgrade option and paid the $80 one time fee to upgrade to MG but my membership time also got decreased, why is that? Not only did I pay the 1 time fee but also got my membership reduced. Would love explanation for that.

Secondly, I also had bought a band for the 4.0 which is not going to work in 5.0. I am unable to start a return for it. I need help. I want to return it and get the money I paid for that band back. The box is unopened (as it was a gift)

Hello, thank you for purchasing a WHOOP. When upgrading to Life, your time left on WHOOP will be prorated since it is a more expensive plan. The amount of time left on the Life membership will equal the $ equivalent of the amount left on the 4.0 membership.

Hi! But I had just bought the 4.0 like 2 weeks ago. Why did I have to pay the upgrade fee when you have been claiming on other posts that the upgrade is free for new members who bought whoop recently
