I happened to get sick right when starting my Whoop journey. So the stats are “off” to the point of getting little alerts in the app that my metrics are high or low once they’ve actually returned to normal levels. Is there a way to just reset it all and start from the beginning? I can’t find a way to do that, so, if not, does it all continue learning and adjusting so it learns my actual normal?
Hi @AllieJarvis, WHOOP is designed to continuously learn and adapt to your body over time, so it’ll recalibrate as you log more data. You don’t need to reset anything. It’ll adjust to your new baseline as your health stabilizes. Just keep wearing it consistently, and it’ll figure out your true ‘normal’ soon enough. Those alerts are just a sign it’s responding to changes, which is a good thing.
I have had my whoop now only for two month and I have been sick for the last few days but my whoop keeps telling me I’m fully recovered. Is there any way to log that I’m sick into my whoop so it knows I’m not feeling good and can adjust my stats?
Yes kind of, you can log it in the journal but it will only give you insights as far as I know.
@Durkin What I’d love to see is Whoop keeping the original baseline for however long I’m ill. eg I had the Eppstein Barr Virus last year for like a month with a dramatically increased Respiratory Rate. Whoop adjusted the baseline and kept saying my RR was in its normal ranges. Obviously I knew what was up but it really bothered me because I had to do all the heavy lifting Whoop usually does for me. Seems like an easy fix just keeping it from updating the baseline while ill. Interested to hear your thoughts!
@chelseast First off, I hope you feel better! It’s a bummer you’re sick. I’m sorry! Keep resting and recovering. Feel better my fellow member!
On the logging side of things: There is a journal entry in the app that you can add at the very bottom under “Status” that says “Feeling sick or ill?” that you can add and then keep track of.
Separately, the biggest thing to keep in mind: WHOOP will continue to learn about you the longer you wear it… and it will adjust accordingly. The issue you’re describing should go away in time.
I hope you feel better soon.
@Fotocraphy Good call. Important to log the journal entry so that WHOOP can start to take that into account. You also gave me an idea… maybe we should ask you more regularly how you’re feeling on a scale from 1-5 or 1-10… something that can allow you to provide positive (or negative) feelings regularly so that we can match that up to your data and help AI learn more about you to help you. I’ll think on it. And I’ll pass your feedback and @chelseast onto the Product team. Thanks gang!
Maybe also make it mental health / physical health seperate
