I use whoop stress monitor to help me figure out food allergies and sensitivities. Generally when the stress monitor goes into high zone for 30+ minutes straight after a meal (usually almost maxing out at 3.0 or very close) it’s a good signal that I’m about to have some significant food allergy symptoms. Many times I notice symptoms of a reaction and then when I look back at whoop data it had been obvious for over 30 minutes from the stress data that I was about to have a major reaction. It would be very helpful to have an optional warning notification by a phone notification or a vibration on the device when the stress monitor stays in the high zone for a set amount of time during times when there is no workout running.
Thanks so much for sharing this — your feedback is noted and genuinely appreciated. We’re always working to bring the most impactful features to our members, and it’s insights like yours that help shape what we prioritize. This is a really unique and powerful use case for the Stress Monitor, and it’s amazing to hear how you’re using it to proactively track allergic responses.
I’ll make sure your suggestion gets routed to the right folks on our team. In the meantime, it would be super helpful to know: Would you want to customize the notification timing or sensitivity — say, different thresholds for intensity or duration — or would a simple default alert be enough? Your thoughts can help us think through how best to design this kind of feature for more members like you.
t would definitely be helpful to be able to customize the time required if that were possible. I tend to feel symptoms around 30 minutes in, but it is possible that if I had an earlier notification I could take antihistamines and reduce the severity of the symptoms, but that would take some experimenting to determine what timing was helpful without giving too many alerts.
I’m not sure if having different thresholds for alerts would be needed for my purposes, if I had an alert that stress was consistently over a 2 that would probably work for my allergic reactions. Usually for me stress between 1-2 is is situational like focus or work related and not an allergic reaction. It may be that others might have a different use for a feature like this though.
Photo attached from Thursday May 1, in case it is helpful. I had a meal around 4:30 that caused a near immediate reaction, and took a Benadryl shortly after 5 that helped for a short period of time(and lowered the stress score slightly and temporarily)
