Help upgrading from WHOOP 4.0 to 5.0 – Purchased less than a month ago

Hi everyone,

I bought my WHOOP 4.0 less than a month ago (late April/early May), and I just found out that the WHOOP 5.0 has been released. I’d really like to upgrade to the new model since I’m still within 30 days of my purchase.

I’ve seen some info online, but I’d love to hear from someone who has already gone through this process. Can you guide me step by step?

Hi Nicolas - Here are some steps for you.

Via the WHOOP Mobile App

  1. Open the WHOOP app and navigate to More > My Account.
  2. Select Upgrade Membership
  3. Select your upgrade option .
  4. Complete payment, and your upgrade will be processed immediately.

If you are still within 30 days you should see your fee being waived. The policy is that if you purchased or renewed a WHOOP 4.0 membership in the last 30 days before May 8, your upgrade fee will be automatically waived at checkout.

During your upgrade I would suggest also selecting the upcycle gift kit (you will this option as you go through the upgrade flow) and handing off your 4.0 to a friend or family member. They would get 2 months free and if they become a member after that you would receive $50 of store credit.

Don’t do it. They don’t wave the fee and won’t refund your money. I had almost 2 years left on my 4.0 and upgraded to 5.0. There was no waiving a fee. It said they will refund it. I got the wrong color band as well.
