Maybe add rock climbing to the pool of activities that count towards the strength section of healthspan?
@Fotocraphy Thanks for the feedback. I’m assuming you’re talking about adding it to this list of activities here in the screenshot below, correct? I’ll pass on this feedback to our team developing Healthspan.
Yup, that’s the one.
Kk thanks @Fotocraphy, I’ll pass this on.
Hi all - just wanted to echo this request please. I am an advanced climber and have very intense bouldering sessions that feature strength movements that are surely more physically powerful and intense than yoga, barre, and toddler carrying (I.e. half the activities in the list of strength activities).
Having just received my healthspan score, I’m almost inclined to go back in my history and change all rock climbing activities to power lifting or strength trainer just to lower my age
Thanks for following up on this – really feel like it should be added! (Especially since bouldering is not cardio intensive at all)
More than happy to provide scientific and medical references on the strength component of climbing – pls let me know if I can help
I can second this request. Rock climbing should definitely be added to the list of strength activities. Are there any actual plans to do so?
@majong @alphakenny1 I hear you loud and clear. I’m connecting with the team to figure out what it would take to make this happen. Thank you!
@Durkin This would be a huge win. There are many climbers who I am sure would be more inclined to wear Whoop if it could more accurately detect strain from bouldering. I currently log all of my sessions as Pilates which is very annoying. Even if its not totally accurate, it would be a whole lot more accurate than it is now if Rock Climbing was correctly categorized and just used the same formula!
Any updates on if it is in the road map?
I’m not sure if they calculate strain differently for those activities, it’s just that it would count towards strength activity time in healthspan.
