I travel often and am ships quite a bit. As a result, my sleep is normally very low, which messes with strain and other metrics. it would be nice to have a ship (or other moving mode, like flying), so that the band does not try to detect sleep, but you can still enter it manually.

@Astroman Thanks for the feedback. Today, you can edit your sleep by clicking on the “Sleep” dial on the homepage, and then scrolling down to the “Last Night’s Sleep” section. Click “Edit” and you’ll see where you can manually override your sleep. I’ve included some images below to help.
After you click Sleep on the Home page, you’ll see this page:
Scroll down to the “Last Night’s Sleep” section and click the “Edit” button:
You’ll be able to edit your sleep here and “Save” it:
Let me know if you were envisioning something different than this.
Three years ago, I contacted Whoop regarding an issue with inaccurate sleep detection on the ship. I received the same response: “We are constantly working to deliver the most valuable features to our members, and insights like yours play a significant role in shaping our priorities. We will pass this along to our product team.”
I spent six months annually on board merchant ships, delivering goods to various parts of the world to their consumers. Despite this demanding mission, the Whoop team has consistently failed to prioritize our needs. Over the years, they have failed to introduce a soft feature such as a ship mode that would allow me to switch off the accelerometer during sleep or decrease its sensitivity. Despite the numerous useful metrics that Whoop provides, I was compelled to terminate my membership due to the complete inaccuracy of the restorative score and sleep metrics.
Therefore, it is unlikely that the Whoop team will implement this feature in the near future.
I get it. There are probably not a lot of people like us who travel while we are sleeping. Probably not a priority because of that. But, I would think it is simple to just add a toggle to enter into a new mode, at least according to my IT focused spouse.
