So…sensor has a battery, battery pack charges it…?

Ok - totally new to Whoop, so please forgive my n00bness here.

Just got the 5.0 MG today. Once I finally figured out how to put the darn thing on (seriously - need pics for that), I slid the battery over it and set it up. I’ve had the battery pack on it all afternoon/evening, so I assume o can now take this bulky thing off and the device will continue to monitor me, correct? How long should it be until I need to put the battery pack back on to charge it again?

You should get a phone notification when your Whoop is fully charged and another one when it’s running low. You can also check the status in app.

If you tap on this percentage while it’s charging it will also tell you how much the battery pack has left so you know when that must be charged.

While I appreciate the response, unfortunately it did not answer my questions.

As I’ve worn my band without the battery pack for a day now, I can see it does in fact have its own long term battery, so that question is answered. The follow up though - how long should I expect this to last before I need to put the battery pack on again to charge the unit? A new question - how long will the battery pack retain its charge (unused) before it requires charging as well? (Trying to get an idea of how quickly these things lose charge and need attention.) Is there any kind of recommended charging cycle (once a week, every 10 days, etc)?

TIA….

James - The 5.0 has an estimated battery life of 14 days. It takes about 2 hours to charge the battery pack with solid green lighting indicating charging is complete. It should also take about 2 hours for the battery pack to fully charge the sensor. A fully charged battery pack can store power and fully charge a WHOOP 5.0 or MG sensor for up to 30 days. I usually charge my device every 10 days or so.

@JamesNerlinger What do you think of that battery life?

Personally I would just do a test cycle where you charge the Whoop, let it drop to 20% or however low you want it and go with the time that took.
If you want to make it a habit I’d actually charge it the same day every week. Would probably be the most comfortable option.

Well…the battery life of the band is impressive. The wireless battery…not so much.

Yesterday, my Whoop MG hit about 50% so thought I’d charge it. I put the battery pack on, then removed the bans to take a shower. (Just not fond of showering with things on my body.) I checked it a few hours later; just over 60%.

I tried it again this morning, thinking maybe there was some kind of thing where it requires you to be w earring the sensor to charge. Nada - the battery was dead. Finally, I plugged it in and everything lit up green.

When I received my Whoop MG just over a week ago, I charged everything to full., including the battery. The battery sat on my night stand after that first time charging the sensor. I certainly did not expect to find it nearly dead just a week later.

I have it charging now, then I will recharge my Whoop. Is there any way to track the charge in the wireless battery…?

When you are charging your Whoop you can see the charge of the battery pack as well. It would pop up when you slide it on after a few seconds somewhere around here:
