Hi,
After the latest firmware update my Whoop MG is stuck in calibrating in the HR dashboard.
Anyone experiencing the same?
Make sure it’s connected to the app. If it won’t connect try troubleshooting. (App Update, Device Firmware Update, Device Reset) If both an app update and firmware update are available make sure to update the app first. Also make sure your phone to has the latest iOS
Thank you for the response. I have done all these steps and finally realised that this is a bug in the app after the latest update in the apple store.
My girlfriend is having exactly the same problem after she updated the whoop app to the latest update in ios.
The “health” tab shows the HR correctly however when we want to see the HR through the “Health Monitor” we can see that the HR is not updated real time.
Now I can see the HR correctly in the health tab and in real time. However when I change to the health monitor the HR value is stuck on a given value and not updating real time.
Do you by any chance have the same problem? Compare the HR from Health vs Health Monitor and see.
That sounds like an issue with the Apple Health app. Also if you have any other fitness trackers make sure whoop is the only one synched with health otherwise that would cause issues too.
Nope I just got this confirm from another user in the battery issues thread.
Another user has confirmed that after he updated the app from the App store the HR in Health Monitor is stuck on one reading and doesn’t change.
Before the new version HR in both places showed live data.
Please have a look yourself if you have an iPhone and have updated to the last version
After the firmware update my Whoop MG is stuck in calibrating my HR. I haven’t had this issue before and now I am unable to see my HR.
Could you please help?
I have actually realised that this is a bug in the app after the latest update in the apple store.

Can you let your development team aware of this?
The battery issue is solved for me
I just updated my app from the Apple store and can confirm the same behavior. Before the new version HR in both places showed live data. Now in Health Monitor is stuck on one reading and doesn’t change. Great catch!
@Durkin can you inform support?
Thank you for also checking and confirming that you have the same issue!
Thanks @buzmay and @AlanGooner. I’ll ping the team to see if we’re hearing from others about this.
I just took a look at my WHOOP app and whether or not I go in from the Home tab or Health tab, I’m seeing my live heart rate. I’ll ping the team, and let’s see if anyone else writes in with this issue. Thanks!
Thank you @Durkin my English is a bit poor so I hope I can make myself understood.
If you look at your HR through the “Health” tab you can see your HR value in real time. For instance if you would do a deep breath following the 4-7-8 technique you will see that your HR decreases and the blue line also moves.
If you do the same via the “Health Monitor” view you will see your HR but it would be static to a value. You could try going upp some stairs and your HR will not move neither up or down.
Before the update this issue was not present and I can confirm that this is also the case for Whoop 4 with the last update.
Maybe the title is misleading given that HR is not on calibrating. This happened once the new version was installed but as soon as you open your HR view through the health view then the calibrating issue I initially reported dissappears. However it does get stuck to a value.
Thanks @buzmay. I appreciate the additional context. Would you mind force quitting the app and reopening it as well to see if that fixes it?
A few of us just tried testing this ourselves by running up our office stairs several times while looking at the Heart Rate monitor through three different navigational paths and it was working for each of us on both the top of the Health tab, as well as through the Health Monitor via the Health tab, and through the Health Monitor via the Home tab. Hmmmmmm. I let the team know, and we’re going to see if others can replicate it.
It was fine for me earlier but now I’m having the same issue. Definitely a problem with the app.
@Durkin actually I just forced quit the app and when open it directly and pressing the “health monitor” (just next to stress monitor) my HR value states as calibrating.
If I then go back and press “Health” tab in the menu down just next to “Home” then I see my HR live value without an issue.
If I then go back to health monitor I see now a value in my HR but that is the value a last saw when I looked at the HR via the “Health” tab
The app version I have is 5.1.1 that is faulty, the prior version was fine.
I just forced closed the app and still the same issue. From Health Monitor is has a number of beats but never changes. From health tab it’s changing a lot.
I will reboot the phone to see how that works.
Reboot didn’t work…
@Durkin if you stay on their though does it keep updating your live HR or does it just stay the same. I think the issue is that it stays the same. Same if you click on health monitor it shows the number but it doesn’t continuously update. It also won’t show the HR zone for me.
I have rebooted my phone, removed the app, removed the Bluetooth connection, and re installed the app and device and the issue is still present. My girlfriend has the same issue after updating to the latest version.
@Durkin I have recorded a video but unfortunately I can not share it here. In the video you can see exactly what I mean. Is there any way I can share it with you?
Can you confirm you have app version is 5.1.1?
It wasn’t auto downloaded for me, I had to go and get it.
Exactly this issue is with version 5.1.1
Hey all!
We’ve rolled out a potential fix for this issue. If you quit the app, then reopen and visit the health monitor screen you should see the Live HR begin streaming in again after a few seconds. If you continue to see this issue after following these steps please feel free to reach out in this thread.
Thanks all for the feedback!
