WHOOP MG paired once, then completely failed

I gifted another WHOOP — it paired once, then completely disappeared from Bluetooth. Pulsing blue light is on, green LEDs work, but no device detects it. It was never fully linked to an account.

Before writing this, I tried everything: all possible troubleshooting steps, including those copy-pasted to me by WHOOP support bots — whose replies I’ve had to wait for hours, all day long, instead of just enjoying the product and forgetting about it.

I’m tired of wasting days in useless back-and-forth.

@Cybercoach

Have you tried the following? (Particularly #4 “Re-Pair in the App:”… I included visuals of what mine looks like to help… do you see your strap on the “Searching for a strap” page or no? It should be there if the device is charged (and bluetooth is turned on). If it’s not showing up there after the steps below, it will be best to email support@whoop.com letting them know it’s not showing up on that screen.

  1. Forget Previous Connections: Go to Bluetooth settings on their phone, forget any WHOOP devices, and ensure no other phone is connected to the WHOOP.

  2. Restart Everything: Power off their phone completely (not just restart), wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on. This resets the Bluetooth system.

  3. Manual Pairing:

    • Remove the WHOOP from their wrist.
    • Wait for the green LEDs to turn off.
    • Rapidly tap the top of the WHOOP sensor until the side LED pulses blue.
  4. Re-Pair in the App:

    • Open the WHOOP app and go to More > Device Settings > Advanced > Pair a Device.
    • Select the WHOOP sensor ID from the list.

Thanks for taking the time to respond — I’ve already completed all the steps you mentioned, including manual pairing and re-pairing through the app (More > Device Settings > Advanced > Pair a Device). The WHOOP shows a pulsing blue light, indicating pairing mode, but it never appears on the app’s “Searching for a strap” screen — not on my device, nor on others we tested.

The sensor is charged, Bluetooth is on, all previous devices were forgotten, phone rebooted — multiple times. Still nothing. WHOOP support was contacted days ago, but their solution is just to replace the device, which isn’t acceptable in my case due to urgency.

If anyone has encountered this exact issue — blue light pulsing, but sensor not showing up at all in the app or Bluetooth device list — I’d appreciate any insight.
