The last few months, I’ve noticed a lot of errors in my HR while recording activities. I will be in the middle of a very hard work out and my HR will randomly keep dropping on my live strain monitor. I then have to take my band off and readjust for it to read correctly again. There are times where I’ve had to do this several times in one workout, which completely ruins my flow. Or I leave it as is and get an inaccurate strain for my workout. Just this morning I was doing some sprint intervals and during one of my sprints, my HR reading fell from 185 to 130 in 10 seconds! Has this happened to anyone else? I just ordered the 5.0 so hopefully this helps.
Hello!
If you’ve noticed some inaccurate HR readings, try troubleshooting with the following tips…
- Wear it snug (but not tight): Aim for a comfy fit about 2–3 fingers above your wrist bone. If it’s too loose, the sensor can lose contact with your skin and mess with the data.
- Keep it flat and steady: The sensor should sit flush against your skin—not tilted or sliding around.
- Clean it now and then: Wipe down the sensor and your skin to clear away sweat, dirt, or oils that might interfere.
- Wear it consistently: The more you wear it—especially during sleep—the more complete your data will be.
- Stay updated: Keep your WHOOP app and firmware current to make sure you’re running on the latest and greatest.
how about just adding support for chest straps? It would be so easy and you would get good HR data from intervalls. Mind blowing that this is still not possible.
