Whoop Sleep Consistency

Hi everyone just wondering if anyone knows why the sleep consistency moved from 90+ being optimal to now 80+ being optimal?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @Stephendabomb. Sleep Consistency hasn’t changed—90%+ is still optimal. However, WHOOP updated Sleep Performance scoring to better reflect overall sleep quality, including sufficiency, efficiency, and stress. If you’re seeing 80%+ as sufficient, that’s because it’s the minimum for decent consistency, but aiming for 90%+ is still the goal for optimal recovery and long-term health.

During a given period of time (5 nights, see attached screenshot from Whoop app) my bed time varied for no more than 6 minutes in total (earliest to latest bed time), my wake times were identical (6:00am), yet my sleep consistency was 84%. From all the sources I’ve reviewed so far, sleep consistency is consistently described as being based solely on the most recent 4–5 nights of bedtime and wake time data—not on historical patterns beyond that period.

If any other factors are taken into account by Whoop when calculating the nightly sleep consistency score, please be specific about what those are?
